Don't let your hearts be troubled

John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Very often when we think of peace, we think of the absence of conflict. Jesus came to the world to bring us peace as he is the Prince of peace, but he did not come to eradicate earthly conflict before his second coming.
“Do you suppose I have come to give you peace on earth?” Jesus asked in Luke 12:51
Jesus came to bring us spiritual peace with the father. But even though the nature of peace Jesus died to give us is different from what many expect we should still always pray to the father to intervene in the affairs of men.
God will not always bring peace the way we expect but he offers us peace that “surpasses understanding”. God can give us a tranquility in the midst of a storm.
We can be confident that even as the storms of life rage, he is with us as we go through the water and the fire.
If there is something, in the world or your life that has discouraged you then take faith and do not let your heart be troubled.
Remember he has not left us alone but given us a comforter who is there to lift us up and counsel us in times of trouble. Why don't you talk to the Holy Spirit today and tell him exactly how you feel and what's making you discouraged? It might surprise you that he already knows.
Don’t be anxious about anything, but prayerfully take your petitions with thanksgiving to God and the peace that surpasses all understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
There will always be wars, trials, tribulations, recessions, famines, sickness and other discouragements.
But place your trust completely only in God and let the light of your eternal hope be a beacon to all those in darkness.
God Bless.
